Hi, I am Nikki, aka The Fit Midwife.
I am a practicing midwife in Dubai and a Pre&Postpartum Training Specialist.
I have a wealth of experience supporting parents-to-be through every part of their pregnancy, birth and the postpartum journey. I trained and worked within the NHS in the UK and worked at two large hospitals prior to my move to the UAE.
I have also continued my studies by embarking on a masters degree in Midwifery and Education.
I developed my birth support services after moving to the UAE. It was here I realised that there was a lack of informative and evidence based birth education which was lead to poor birth outcomes and experiences. I also realised that the nature of private healthcare did not allow for postpartum support, with new parents struggling for help, reassurance and a helping hand.
Shortly after moving to the UAE, I also progressed my own personal love of fitness in to a learning opportunity and studied to become a personal trainer with a specialised interest in pre and postpartum training. I continue to progress my knowledge and education on pre & postpartum movement, rehab and training through various different courses from industry professionals.
Using this in conjunction with my midwifery background has allowed me to produce high quality, pregnancy and postpartum appropriate training programmes that can be tailored to any woman, be it a full time athlete or a mum wanting to keep fit for pregnancy.
My approach is very evidence based but maintains the personal element. I can provide you with all the tools needed to make the best decisions for you and your family and to maintain a healthy lifestyle no matter what stage of your birth journey you are in.
My ethos is “Whatever works for you, do that!!”
