Title: Total fertilization failure (TFF)

Abstract

Total fertilization failure (TFF), which is the failure of fertilization in all oocytes, occurs in 5–10 % of IVF cycles.
Following intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), human oocytes still fail to fertilize almost 30 % of the time and TFF occurs in 2–3 % of ICSI cycles.
It’s a devastating condition for both the clinician and the Embryologist, as their maybe no, Embryos formed for the embryo transfer.
This condition can be predicted a thorough history regarding the previous response to the stimulation cycle, and a few alterations in the embryology Lab can definitely prevent does catastrophe.
Though the exact reason for the total fertilisation failure is not known, there are many factors which are responsible for this.

Dr. Ashwini Kale is a Gynecologist,Gynecologic Oncologist and Infertility Specialist in Pimple Saudagar, Pune and has an experience of 15 years in these fields. Dr. Ashwini Kale practices at Dr. Ashish Kale's IVF Center in Pimple Saudagar, Pune and Asha Kiran Hospital in Balewadi, Pune. She completed DNB - Obstetrics & Gynecology from King Edward Memorial Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in 2007.
