Presentation Title:

Differential diagnosis of liver disease during pregnancy

Abstract

Despite advancements in medical science and the continuous adoption of innovative medical technologies aimed at controlling infectious diseases, viral hepatitis remains a major contributor to elevated rates of illness and mortality. The paper presents differential diagnosis of the most dangerous liver diseases during pregnancy, such as viral hepatitis A, B, C, as well as acute liver dystrophy and HELLP syndrome. Clear diagnostic criteria and delivery route are provided for each of the considered liver diseases during pregnancy. The following are the diagnostic criteria for liver pathologies during pregnancy. After all, the successful completion of the gestational process for both the mother and the fetus depends on an accurate diagnosis. Thus, in the case of acute fatty liver disease and HELLP syndrome, the only salvation is immediate delivery. In turn, in acute hepatitis or exacerbation of chronic hepatitis, premature delivery leads to a worsening of the prognosis not only for the pregnant woman, but also for her child. Clear diagnostic differences between acute hepatitis A and B without laboratory testing are presented. HA is characterized by an acute onset of the disease, a short pre-icteric period, often with the appearance of a flu-like variant, improvement in the well-being of patients with the appearance of jaundice and, in general, a short and favorable course of the disease in the absolute majority of cases. The onset of the disease in HB is gradual. From day to day, signs of a general toxic syndrome appear and increase in intensity - malaise, weakness, feeling of exhaustion, decreased performance, often headache, aches in bones and muscles. With the appearance of jaundice, the manifestations of intoxication syndrome reach their maximum development.
