Title: The ethical dimension of the fetus with malformations

Abstract

The ethical dilemas in the filed of prenatal diagnosis and management of fetal chromosomal and structural abnormalities are highly controversial because of the contested status of the fetus and mother with additional potential conflict between mother and fetus. Ethical questions and dilemas in field of prenatal diagnosis include the nature and purpose of the diagnosis itself, and management of the information which is given to the woman and her partner. The ethical dilemas has an essential application in the clinical management of pregnancies complicated by fetal abnormalities with high respect for autonomy both mother and the fetus, as the issues of termination of the pregnancy should be considered as an option in the managment of the fetus with structural or chromosomal defect. Several options should be considered in the managent of the pregnancy with the fetus which has eighter structural or chromosomal defect.
